Karnataka urges Centre to fast-track wildlife clearance for Mekedatu drinking water project
Karnataka CM D K Shivakumar has urged the Centre to expedite wildlife clearance for 20 boreholes planned for the Mekedatu drinking water project.
The boreholes are proposed inside the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary, so they need wildlife clearance before work can proceed.
The request seeks a faster decision on the clearance for the project's drinking water supply.
