Jammu & Kashmir deploys embryo technology to boost sheep breeding

The Sheep Husbandry Department in Kashmir has begun offering Embryo Transfer Technology (ETT) to progressive farmers at no cost, starting October 2025. The initiative operates through an ETT laboratory located at Zakura.
The programme aims to accelerate genetic improvements in sheep populations across the region. By providing the technology free of charge, the department seeks to encourage farmers to adopt advanced breeding practices.
