Kerala High Court Bars State from Handing Over Kumbh Girl to MP Police

The Kerala High Court has directed the state not to hand over a girl, who became known as the 'Kumbh Girl' after she was found during the Kumbh Mela, to Madhya Pradesh Police. The court observed that a commission's order indicates the girl's apprehension of a threat to her life was genuine and imminent.

The directive comes as part of proceedings concerning the girl's custody and safety. The HC's decision prioritises the protection of the minor, preventing her transfer to MP authorities at this stage.
