Kerala CM says organ transplant institute in Kozhikode will be ready in 30 months

Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan announced that construction of an organ transplant institute in Kozhikode will be completed within 30 months. The institute, coming up on a 20-acre plot in Chevayur, has been allocated ₹271 crore in funding.
The facility aims to consolidate all organ transplantation-related services under a single roof. This centralised approach is expected to significantly reduce surgical costs to approximately one-third of current rates, improving accessibility for patients requiring transplant procedures.
