Kerala Orders Vigilance Probe Against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar

Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has ordered a formal investigation by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, following a complaint filed by senior Congress leader and KPCC executive member Malayankeezhu Venugopal.
The probe centres on questions related to 2006 PWD-connected allegations against the CEC. Venugopal, in his capacity as a senior Congress party official, has outlined specific allegations and provided reasons for seeking the vigilance inquiry into the matter.
The investigation marks a significant development as the complainant has engaged with media to discuss the allegations against the CEC and his expectations from the formal probe. The full details of the complaint and the specific charges remain central to the ongoing vigilance inquiry.
