Kohli and Gill dismissed in same over against West Indies

India captain Shubman Gill and talismanic batter Virat Kohli suffered a rare double blow during the third ODI against West Indies in New Chandigarh on Saturday, with both dismissed in the same over. Gill managed only a single, edging a short Jayden Seales delivery down the leg side into the hands of a diving Shai Hope behind the stumps. Kohli followed for a duck, beaten by a full delivery that held its line and crashed into the middle stump.
The dismissals came as a significant setback for India's batting lineup, with two of the team's premier batters back in the pavilion before the scoreboard had moved into double figures. This marked a sharp contrast to their earlier performances in the series, where both players had been in sublime form. Gill had struck a century and a double hundred in previous matches, while Kohli smashed a hundred in the first ODI, becoming only the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to cross 15,000 runs in ODI format in the process.
