Kuki Woman Killed in Manipur Ambush; Naga Man's Severed Head Found
A Kuki woman was killed in an armed ambush in Manipur's Kamjong district. The incident occurred shortly after security forces recovered the severed head of a Naga man in the Kangpokpi area, escalating tensions in the violence-hit state.
Two other travellers, identified as D Paokhothang Haokip and his wife Boishi Haokip from Chassad village, went missing following the ambush. Their whereabouts remain unknown.
Security forces and local villagers have initiated a search operation to locate the missing couple. The recovery of the severed head and the killing of the woman underscore the ongoing communal violence that has gripped Manipur since armed clashes erupted between Kuki and Naga communities in May 2023.
