Security Forces Destroy 3 IEDs in Manipur's Ukhrul, Arrest 4 Militants

Security forces conducted a joint operation in Manipur's Ukhrul district and safely destroyed three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on Friday, the Army said. Troops of the Spear Corps, coordinating with Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, detected the IEDs based on specific intelligence inputs. The explosives featured complex initiation mechanisms and posed a threat to civilians and property. Security forces sanitised the area before conducting a controlled in-situ demolition.
In separate operations, four militants from banned outfits including the People's Liberation Army (PLA), Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) and Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) were arrested from Imphal West, Bishnupur and Kakching districts. Foreign-made weapons and ammunition were recovered from the arrested militants. The operations reflect ongoing efforts by security forces to prevent militant activities and maintain stability in the region.
