Kuki-Zo Council opposes NRC before Census in Manipur

Manipur's Kuki-Zo Council has opposed calls for a National Register of Citizens (NRC) before the Census is conducted in the state. The council argued that demographic data should first be established through an impartial Census exercise.

The organisation contended that initiating an NRC process before Census completion would be premature and could undermine the accuracy of the register.
