Kashmir man's body returned to family two months after encounter death
Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir returned the body of Rashid Mughal to his family more than two months after his death in an alleged encounter, marking a rare occurrence in the region. The Army had initially identified him as an unidentified terrorist, a claim his family has disputed.
The delayed return of the body prompted a magisterial inquiry into the circumstances of his death. The case has raised questions about encounter operations and identification procedures in the valley.
