Left Parties to Contest Separately in Tamil Nadu Bypolls

The Left parties have decided to contest separately in the upcoming Tamil Nadu bypolls scheduled for October 6, rejecting an alliance with the TVK (Tamil Maanila Congress Moopanar).

The CPI will contest from the Dharapuram constituency, while the CPI(M) will field its candidate from Maduranthakam. Both parties have chosen to fight independently rather than coordinate with other opposition alliances in the state.
