Left parties to contest Tamil Nadu bypolls separately, skip Vijay's TVK alliance

The Communist Party of India (CPI) and CPI(M) have decided to contest the October 6 bypolls in Madurantakam and Dharapuram as a separate alliance, rather than join actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led front.
