Most-Wanted LeT Terrorist Hashim Moosa Killed in Budgam Operation

Most-wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Mohammad Asif, alias Hashim Moosa, was killed in an intelligence-led operation by the Army's 15 Chinar Corps in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district on September 29. Acting on specific intelligence about his presence in Gurweth Kalan area, security forces tracked and eliminated him around 10:30 pm.
The Pakistani national, who infiltrated India in 2023 and was a former Special Service Group commando, had been under surveillance for over 18 months. Security agencies linked him to multiple attacks on Indian forces, including the August 2023 Halan attack in Kulgam that killed three Army personnel, a December 2023 DKG ambush that claimed four soldiers, a May 2024 IAF convoy attack in Poonch, and an October 2024 Gulmarg attack that killed four personnel.
Moosa maintained regular contact with senior LeT commander Sajid Jatt and was considered a high-value foreign operative. His elimination underscores the critical role of actionable intelligence in counter-terrorism operations.
