Madras High Court questions CBI probe into four MLAs' resignation without evidence
The Madras High Court has questioned the ordering of a CBI probe into the resignation of four MLAs, stating that no basic evidence of corrupt practices was submitted before the court. Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan observed that the petitioner had failed to present even elementary materials to establish reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing.
The bench's remarks suggest concerns about initiating a high-level investigation without adequate preliminary evidence or documentation to justify such action.
