Madras High Court reserves verdict on Tirupattur TVK MLA's single-vote win challenge

The Madras High Court has reserved its order on a plea by Tirupattur TVK MLA R. Seenivasa Sethupathy to reject an election petition filed against him. Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan heard arguments in the case where DMK former Minister K.R. Periakaruppan challenged Sethupathy's election victory, which was secured by a single vote margin.

The election petition contests the legitimacy of Sethupathy's win in the closely contested election. The court's verdict on whether to dismiss the petition or proceed with the case is now awaited.
