MEA slams Pakistan over 'farce' PoK polls, accuses forces of repression
India's Ministry of External Affairs issued a strong rebuke of local elections held in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, calling them a farce and illegitimate. The MEA accused Pakistani forces of responding to public discontent with bullets and repression of civilians.
The ministry demanded international action against cross-border terrorism originating from Pakistan, specifically targeting militant groups including Lashkar-e-Taiba. This came following reports of Indian agencies neutralizing commanders of such outfits.
India called on the global community to firmly address Pakistan's conduct and human rights violations in the occupied territory.
