Madras HC refuses to shift Veeramani POCSO case to CBI, backs SIT probe

The Madras High Court has rejected a plea to transfer the investigation into a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case involving granite baron R Veeramani to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The court ruled that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the matter should be given additional time to complete its probe before any such transfer is considered.
