Maharashtra police discouraged CJP volunteers from Delhi protest, says Dipke

Citizens Justice Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke accused Maharashtra Police of attempting to intimidate protesters on Tuesday after authorities in Chandrapur issued notices to volunteers planning to join a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on October 10. Dipke called the police action "dictatorship."
According to Dipke, several CJP volunteers received notices from Chandrapur's Ballarpur Police issued on October 5 under Section 168 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The notices instructed volunteers not to participate in the Delhi protest and sought details about their travel plans, including who was funding their participation. At a press conference, Dipke stated: "They have been told not to go to the protest at Jantar Mantar. They have also been asked where the funds for their travel to Delhi are coming from." The notices also directed recipients not to associate with violent protesters, post "violent" content on social media, or make provocative speeches without police permission.
The Chandrapur district police notice warned of preventive or criminal action if recipients violated the directives. It further cited Section 37(1)(3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, which is in force in Chandrapur district by order of the district collector to maintain law and order.
