Mamata protests hawker evictions in West Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has taken to the streets to protest the eviction of hawkers and settlers across markets and railway stations in the state.

The eviction drive has intensified since the BJP assumed power in West Bengal in May 2026. Street vendors and informal settlers have faced displacement from their traditional vending spots across the state.
