Mamata-TMC hits back at Centre over Delhi police deployment for anti-SIR protests

Trinamool Congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh responded to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's remarks on opposition activity, countering the government's framing of anti-SIR protests as regime-change attempts.
Ghosh's comment centered on the deployment of police forces in Delhi for the anti-SIR (Student Internship Scheme) demonstrations, arguing that comparable security measures would have been better deployed in Manipur, where communal violence has claimed lives and displaced thousands.
The exchange reflects the broader political tension between the ruling BJP and opposition parties over both the handling of student protests and the security situation in the northeastern state. Singh had accused the opposition of exploiting youth activism to fuel "anarchy" and pursue political agendas similar to recent developments in Bangladesh.
