Manipur CM warns against atrocities as Naga hostage killing sparks shutdown

Manipur Chief Minister Khemchand said the state government will not remain a passive observer to atrocities, responding to the killing of Naga hostages. The statement came as tensions escalated in the state following the incident.
In protest, the United Naga Council imposed a 24-hour shutdown across parts of Manipur beginning 6 a.m. on June 11. The shutdown reflected growing anger over the hostage deaths and demands for accountability.
