Renowned Manipuri Musician C Vikram Singh Dies After Assault in Delhi; 7 Arrested

A 54-year-old Manipuri musician, C Vikram Singh, died after an alleged assault by delivery workers and dhaba staff outside his Kilokari village apartment in southeast Delhi early Monday. Singh objected to the group shouting and drinking alcohol outside his residence, which led to the confrontation where he sustained injuries from blows and punches.
Singh was rushed to Holy Family Hospital by his son but succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested seven men and apprehended one juvenile in connection with the case. The Sunlight Colony police station registered a PCR call after the incident.
The musician, a Meitei community member who had resided in Delhi for several years, was remembered by the North East Students Society and Manipur's Chief Minister as a respected figure in the Manipuri music scene. Candlelight marches were held in his memory by people from Manipur.
