Sanjay Manjrekar Criticizes Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's On-Field Conduct, Says He Should Have Been Dropped

Former India cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar expressed disapproval of young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's conduct during an India A match, stating he should face disciplinary consequences for a physical exchange with an opponent. Manjrekar said on social media that had he been India A's coach or manager, he would have dropped Sooryavanshi to send a clear message that physical behaviour on the field is unacceptable, regardless of provocation.

The criticism followed an incident between Sooryavanshi and Sri Lanka A players. Later, in India A's match against Afghanistan A, Sooryavanshi was dismissed by pacer Faridoon Dawoodzai while attempting a hook shot against a short delivery. The dismissal drew further attention after Dawoodzai's celebration went viral on social media.
