Meerut woman and lover sentenced to death for husband's murder staged as snakebite

A court in Meerut has sentenced a woman and her lover to death for the premeditated murder of her husband. The couple staged the death as a snakebite accident by placing a snake on the victim's bed.
Initially, the death appeared to be caused by a snakebite. However, a post-mortem examination revealed injury marks on the victim's neck and nose, contradicting the snakebite theory and pointing to foul play.
The investigation uncovered the conspiracy, leading to the conviction of both the woman and her accomplice. The case highlights how the couple attempted to evade detection through the staged accident, only to be undone by forensic evidence.
