Mettur Dam water release for delta irrigation delayed past June 12

The Tamil Nadu government has decided against opening Mettur Dam for delta irrigation on June 12, as initially planned. The decision to release water will depend on whether the region receives substantial rainfall in the coming days.

Authorities are monitoring monsoon conditions before finalizing the timing for irrigation water release to delta regions.
