MHA defends FCRA amendment citing internal security concerns
The Ministry of Home Affairs has defended recent amendments to the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), citing internal security issues as the primary rationale.
The MHA stated that the tweaks to the legislation were necessary to address emerging security challenges and strengthen regulatory oversight of foreign funding flows into the country.
The government has maintained that the amendments aim to ensure transparency and prevent misuse of foreign contributions for activities that could undermine national security.
