MHA seeks reports from Punjab on deaths linked to anti-drug operations

The Ministry of Home Affairs has sought detailed reports from Punjab's authorities regarding two violent incidents connected to anti-drug operations in the state.
The first case involves the murder of anti-drug activist Parwinder Singh in Mansa district, which triggered significant public protests. The second incident concerns an assault on Bikramjit Singh in Gurdaspur that proved fatal.
The MHA's move comes as concerns mount over the conduct and consequences of Punjab's drug suppression campaign. The demand for comprehensive reports suggests a review of how anti-narcotics efforts are being carried out on the ground.
