MMRDA Imposes ₹2 Crore Penalty on Godrej & Boyce Over Metro 4 Site Death
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has imposed a ₹2 crore penalty on contractor Godrej & Boyce following a fatal incident at a Metro 4 project construction site. Police are investigating the circumstances of the death.
MMRDA has also ordered a detailed inquiry under its Director (Infrastructure) to examine safety protocol compliance. The authority said further action may be taken after the investigation concludes. MMRDA emphasised that safety lapses at project sites will be handled strictly.
