Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has broken his silence on the viral moment at India's AI Summit where he and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman declined to hold hands on stage alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Amodei told Bloomberg that the event was poorly organised, with organisers changing the order of speakers at the last minute before asking all participants to hold hands for a photograph.

"The summit was extremely disorganised," Amodei said, adding that such international summits with heads of state tend to face similar challenges. He noted that Modi himself issued the directive to hold hands, describing it as a sudden request made during the event.
