Modi bridges generational gap through Gen Z-focused outreach strategy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has steadily entered conversations central to young Indians' everyday lives—from exam stress and gaming to content creators, startups, and artificial intelligence. Rather than attempting to adopt Gen Z culture, Modi's approach focuses on appearing where young people already congregate, recognizing they quickly dismiss content that fails to capture attention.
Early initiatives like Pariksha Pe Charcha, launched in February 2018, saw Modi discuss exam anxiety, peer pressure, and time management with students, parents, and teachers. This annual interaction and his book Exam Warriors position him as an elder offering guidance on intensely personal subjects. His engagement with content creators and gamers reflects recognition that influence now extends beyond traditional television.
This political communication strategy targets voters before many are old enough to cast ballots, bridging the generational distance through digital platforms where Gen Z already spends time.
