PM Modi calls for global framework to combat cyber fraud and deepfakes at IMC 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a coordinated global system to address cyber fraud, deepfakes, and other digital crimes at the International Mobile Congress 2026.
Addressing the GSMA and global telecom operators, Modi urged them to develop a mechanism capable of stopping fraud before it reaches citizens. He emphasized that such collaboration is essential to protect people in an increasingly digital world.
Modi stated that India is prepared to actively participate and assist in building such international frameworks. The call reflects growing concerns over rising cybercrime, fraudulent schemes, and misuse of deepfake technology across borders.
