Growth For Whom? Modi Pushes Inclusive Development at G7 Summit in France

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the G7 Outreach Session in Évian, France, advocating for inclusive and sustainable global economic development. He questioned traditional metrics of progress, asking world leaders to consider "Growth for whom, with whom, and in what direction?" rather than focusing solely on GDP and trade volumes.
Modi highlighted India's development philosophy of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas" (Together with all, Development for all, Trust of all, Efforts by all) as a model for democratic empowerment and inclusive policies. He cited India's G20 Presidency and the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor as examples of collaborative development initiatives.
The Prime Minister also raised concerns about developing economies bearing the brunt of global instability, noting disruptions in fuel, fertiliser and food supply chains disproportionately affect the Global South.
