Congress accuses PM Modi of hypocrisy over women's reservation push

The Congress party has accused Prime Minister Modi of being dishonest in his pitch for women's reservation in Parliament. Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh said Congress has maintained a consistent position to implement women's reservation from the 2029 Lok Sabha elections within the current strength of 543 seats.
Ramesh criticized what he called the PM's "double-faced hypocrisy" on the issue, suggesting the government's stance has shifted over time. The Congress reiterated its support for the Women's Reservation Bill but stressed the need for a transparent and principled approach to the implementation timeline.
