India's Education System Failing To Convert Demographic Dividend Into Opportunities, Says MP Congress Chief

Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari on Wednesday said India's education system is failing to convert its demographic dividend into educational and employment opportunities. Citing data from sources including NITI Aayog, he claimed more than 10 crore youths lack access to higher education while around 12 crore children do not complete their schooling.
Partwari noted that with a large number of children dropping out of school, vacant teacher positions, declining government schools, and millions of youths deprived of higher education, the demographic dividend cannot automatically transform into an education dividend. He emphasized that India's youth population could become the country's greatest strength if given access to quality schools, higher education, skill development, and employment opportunities.
His remarks came ahead of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' youth outreach programme scheduled for Indore on September 19.
