Mumbai Citizens' Forum Flags Missing Children's Facilities at Renovated Kalina Garden

Mumbai Citizens' Forum has raised concerns over the newly-renovated municipal garden at CST Road junction opposite Mumbai University's Kalina campus. In a letter to municipal commissioner Ashwini Bhide, the forum's zonal head advocate Charles D'sa noted that while the garden was given to a private organisation for renovation, it lacks essential children's play equipment such as swings, slides and see-saws, and gymnasium equipment.
D'sa argued that a municipal garden must serve all sections of society, not just senior citizens. He pointed out that the garden appears designed primarily as a landscaped walking area, which may defeat the purpose of a neighbourhood facility. The raised compound wall also reduces visibility from outside. The Citizens' Forum has demanded a joint inspection by H/east ward officials and citizens.
