Mumbai fuel dealers threaten to drop UPI payments over MDR charges

The Petrol Dealers Association of Mumbai has written to the Reserve Bank of India and Finance Ministry demanding a complete waiver of merchant discount rate (MDR) charges for fuel retailers.
The association has warned that dealers may withdraw UPI payment facilities starting October 15 if their demands are not met. The dealers argue that MDR fees impose a significant burden on their business margins.
