India must develop its own vocabulary for soft power, says Nalanda Vice-Chancellor

Nalanda University Vice-Chancellor Sachin Chaturvedi has called for India to forge its own conceptual vocabulary when discussing and exercising soft power on the global stage. Rather than adopting Western frameworks and language, he argues the country should develop indigenous terminology that reflects its unique civilizational approach to influence.
Chaturvedi's remarks underscore growing emphasis among Indian policymakers and intellectuals on articulating India's strategic interests and cultural influence through an independent lens, drawing from the nation's historical and philosophical traditions.
