PM Modi Announces Nandan Nilekali-Led Task Force to Reform India's Exam System

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation of a task force headed by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani to recommend reforms for making India's examination system more reliable, transparent and technology-driven. The panel will submit a report to guide future examination reforms.
Modi stated the government is taking steps to ensure reliable upcoming examinations and that those responsible for exam paper leaks face legal action through fast-track courts. He emphasised the need for the examination system to leverage technology maximally while maintaining integrity.
The announcement followed protests over alleged exam paper leaks and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Nilekani, with experience in digital governance initiatives, will lead the reform effort based on the government's commitment to strengthen examination reliability.
