NCP (SP) MPs to meet PM Modi, delimitation Bill likely on agenda

NCP (Shivraj Pawar) faction MPs are likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi around August 10, as political activity intensifies over the delimitation Bill in the final week of Parliament's monsoon session. The meeting is expected to address parliamentary constituency issues and development concerns, though government priority on delimitation may also feature prominently.
NCP (SP) executive president Supriya Sule has already signalled her party's stance on delimitation. She stated the party would consider supporting the delimitation process if all states receive equal proportional increases in Lok Sabha seats. She also noted that a multi-party meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah discussed the delimitation issue.
The central government aims to advance both the women's reservation Bill and the delimitation Bill, which seeks to reorganise Lok Sabha seats based on updated census data.
