NCW proposes gender-neutral child care leave and 5 lakh creche seats by 2030

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has proposed introducing gender-neutral child care leave and expanding creche facilities to 5 lakh seats by 2030. The initiative aims to support working parents and promote gender equality in the workplace.
The proposal seeks to move beyond traditional maternity-focused policies and create a more inclusive framework for child care responsibilities. Expanding creche infrastructure is intended to enable greater workforce participation, particularly for women, across urban and rural areas.
