NGT questions Tamil Nadu on Vinayaka idol immersion preparedness

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has questioned the Tamil Nadu government over its preparedness for Vinayaka idol immersion, seeking an explanation on what measures were taken in the past year.

The bench had previously directed the state to file an affidavit confirming adherence to guidelines issued by the Central Pollution Control Board, along with earlier orders from the Supreme Court, Madras High Court, and NGT itself. The state has requested additional time to comply with the directive ahead of next year's festival.
