NH-66 Safety Concerns Resurface After Eight Student Deaths

Fresh concerns have emerged over the National Highways Authority of India's (NHAI) handling of safety issues on NH-66, following the deaths of eight students. The incident has reignited scrutiny of the highway widening project, which has been underway for four years.
Minister Janeesh alleged that NHAI has been uncooperative when public representatives convened meetings or raised concerns regarding the ongoing construction work. The accusations point to coordination gaps between the highway authority and local officials during the project's implementation.
