NHRC takes cognizance of alleged bonded labour of UP family in Telangana

The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo moto cognizance of a report concerning 12 members of a Uttar Pradesh family allegedly held in bonded labour at a construction site in Telangana's Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

According to the report, the family members were kept in bondage for approximately one year at the construction location. The move by the NHRC comes after the case was brought to its attention, triggering the commission's independent action on the matter.
