NHRC directs Etah police to file FIR against home tutor accused of using children for anti-Modi content

The National Human Rights Commission on September 28 took cognisance of a complaint against a coaching centre allegedly exploiting minor children to create and distribute abusive, politically charged content on Instagram. The operation, run under the handle "Pratibha_edu_squad" from Etah district in Uttar Pradesh, is accused of scripting and tutoring children to appear in videos containing derogatory expressions before uploading them publicly.
The complaint, filed by Sewa Nyaya Uthhan Foundation, alleges that children from socially and economically vulnerable backgrounds were used for content creation without proper parental consent, raising concerns about their dignity, privacy and psychological well-being. The NHRC Bench headed by Member Priyank Kanoongo has directed the Etah Senior Superintendent of Police to register an FIR and issued notices to Meta India's leadership and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology seeking their response.
