NHRC seeks probe into use of minors at CJP Mumbai protest

The National Human Rights Commission has taken cognisance of allegations that minors were used during a recent protest organised by the Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU) in Mumbai. The NHRC has directed the city police to examine the roles of organisers and accompanying adults, and to investigate whether child labour laws were violated.
The Commission has also asked X Corporation to preserve all digital evidence related to the protest. The action follows concerns raised about the participation of children in the gathering.
