NIA files chargesheet against 9 ISIS-linked operatives for online radicalization

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against nine accused persons in a special NIA court in Vijayawada for radicalizing youth online and promoting activities of the banned terror organization ISIS. The accused are Mohammad Rahmatullah Sharif, Mohammad Danish, Mirza Sohel Beg, Lucky Ahmad, Jeeshan Abdul Majeed, Mir Asif Ali, Abdul Salam, Sharique Khan, and Sheikh Faiaz ur Rahman.
According to NIA, the accused were members or supporters of ISIS who used social media platforms, particularly Instagram, to influence and radicalize youth. The investigation revealed they plotted to establish a caliphate in India through violent jihad, targeting India's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The accused allegedly sought to recruit youth into violent terrorist activities and prepared for explosives training and weapons handling.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that the accused developed a secure communication application for encrypted messaging among themselves, highlighting the sophisticated nature of the online radicalization network.
