Heavy Security Deployed in Pune for Rahul Gandhi's Student Outreach Event

Heavy security arrangements have been deployed at All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society (AISSMS) College of Engineering in Pune ahead of Congress Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's visit for the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' student outreach programme scheduled for Saturday. Security has also been heightened at Pune Airport. The event, running from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm, is expected to draw around 8,000 to 10,000 attendees.
Pune Police granted permission for the event with 30 mandatory conditions imposed on organisers. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajlakshmi Shivankar instructed former MLA Mohan Joshi that prohibitions include displaying provocative images, banners or portraits. Organisers will bear legal responsibility for any law-and-order incidents arising during the programme.
The initiative aims to provide a platform for students, particularly young women, to interact with Gandhi and discuss education, safety, equality and career opportunities.
