Parliamentary panel flags staffing crisis at NTA, proposes new question bank

A parliamentary panel has raised concerns over significant staff shortages at the National Test Agency (NTA), according to its report. The panel noted that 16 of the agency's 39 permanent positions remain unfilled, creating operational challenges.
The report also highlighted that the post of NTA Director General has been held on an additional charge basis for nearly two years, suggesting a lack of dedicated leadership continuity.
In response to these gaps, the parliamentary panel has proposed a new question bank system to improve the functioning of the testing body. The recommendations aim to address systemic inefficiencies arising from the staff crunch.
