Film shoots will return to Kashmir, says Omar Abdullah amid festival push

Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed optimism that a film festival could help restore Kashmir's status as a premier location for movie productions. Abdullah recalled that Kashmir was a favoured shooting destination before Switzerland became the preferred choice for filmmakers.
The Chief Minister's remarks underscore efforts to revive the region's film industry and attract production crews back to the valley. Abdullah believes initiatives like the festival could help position Kashmir competitively among film shooting destinations.
