On Modi's birthday, CM Omar Abdullah urges PM to restore J&K statehood

Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah used Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday to call for the restoration of statehood to the Union Territory. Abdullah said the occasion would be an opportune moment for the PM to grant the region statehood.

Abdullah also cautioned Ladakh's leadership against depending solely on verbal assurances from the Centre regarding constitutional safeguards for the region. He underscored the need for concrete, documented commitments on matters affecting Ladakh's future.
